A bursary to study French as a second or foreign language

Description of the Bursary

  • This bursary aims to financially support students residing outside of the province of Quebec who would like to participate in an intensive French as a foreign or second language summer immersion program at one of the AQEFLE member schools.

  • The bursary, worth $ 2 000 CA, is deducted from the registration fees when applying to participate in a program offered by one of the AQEFLE member schools.

  • Certain programs are offered exclusively to 16- and 17-year-olds, others are for students aged 18 years or older (see the program description).

  • Information on admission requirements for each of the programs can be found on the website for each individual member school.

  • All programs offered by AQEFLE member schools are intended for students of all levels: beginner, intermediate and advanced.

Admission Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age and live outside of the province of Quebec.              

  • Participate in the AQEFLE Bursary Contest by filling out the form online

  • It is not necessary to currently be a student in order to participate in the contest.

  • The AQEFLE Bursary can be transferred to another person.

General Rules

  • The contest closes November 30.

  • AQEFLE will inform the bursary recipient after the draw. This person then has two weeks to inform AQEFLE of their decision to accept or refuse the bursary by sending an email to: info@aqefle.com.

  • In the event that there are no admissible candidates during a bursary year, AQEFLE reserves the right to withhold the bursary for that year.

  • The AQEFLE Bursary must be used during the summer following the draw.

  • The prize must be accepted as is and can not be substituted.

  • If required, the bursary recipient must consent to the use of their name or picture for publicity about the contest and will not receive any remuneration in exchange.

  • Refusing to accept the bursary releases AQEFLE from all obligations.

  • The bursary recipient must consent to create a testimony of his immersive experience, and consents to its dissemination on social networks.

  • “Any litigation respecting the conduct or organization of a publicity contest may be submitted to the Régie des alcools, des courses et des jeux for a ruling. Any litigation respecting the awarding of a prize may be submitted to the board only for the purpose of helping the parties reach a settlement”.
